‘Skyrim: Special Edition’ goes gold – system requirements revealed

Bethesda recently announced via social media that their HD remake of 2011’s The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has gone gold – meaning primary development is complete and the game is ready for subsequent manufacturing and distribution.

The developer also disclosed the minimum system requirements for PC, and it looks as though the game won’t be overwhelmingly demanding in terms of how cutting-edge your PC will need to be. Furthermore, PC gamers will only need a fairly modest 12GB of free space to install the game. The full system requirements, along with install sizes for console, are listed below.

The disparity in install size between regions is presumably due to the inclusion of more languages in the European versions.

PC gamers should also be aware that Skyrim: Special Edition will be free for those who already own the game and its three expansion packs.

With regards to mod support on the console versions, we can expect the same kind of limitations as was the case with console mod system in Fallout 4.
