The upcoming instalment in Turn 10 Studios’ popular racing series, Forza 6 Apex Edition, will be the first title in the franchise to be released on PC. Turn 10 creative director Dan Greenawalt also announced that all future Forza releases will be compatible with both Xbox and PC.
Greenawalt also stated that Apex is the first step in Forza making its way to Windows 10. It also aims to be a “proof point” for what developers will be able to do using Microsoft’s Universal Windows Platform, which will enable games to run on all Windows 10 devices.
It was also confirmed that Apex will run at a resolution of 4k and a framerate of 60fps if your computer is capable. This will be the highest level of fidelity in the history of the Forza franchise.
Forza 6 Apex is due out later this year, though an exact release date has not been confirmed. Another Forza game has been announced, and will presumably be announced at E3 2016. Its cover car is the Lamborghini Centenario, which is not available in the real world yet.
